Two Days' Work
The final bit of flooring began in earnest yesterday.
The photos in this post show the work done on Thursday and Friday (today). I'm hoping that three more days will wind it up. I'm not at all sure if the men will work Sunday. It will be fine with me if they did. We can't go to church any way.

The Ceiling - Day Six
Today being Sunday, there will be no work today. Fortunately, there is very little work left on the ceiling. Monday, they should be finished with the molding. That will only leave the painting, which will be done by a different crew.
When contracted, the head installer estimated the work on the ceiling to take two weeks. It's taken far less time than that.
I'm not certain how long it will take the painters to finish, but the men putting down the floor tiles should begin Tuesday. They're estimating three days to lay the tiles. If all goes well, everything should be finished before next Sunday, and we can begin to put the house back to normal.

Land O Lakes Changes Their Packaging
Thanks to a meme I discovered on Facebook, I've learned that Land O Lakes is changing the logo they've been using on their butter packages.
The photo at the beginning of this post is reported to be of the new packaging.
The meme, posted below, makes a joke about the change being typically American - removing the native American, but keeping the land.
It surprised me to learn that Land o Lakes was making this change, but they've actually changed the packaging before. I hadn't realized that the portrait of the native American woman was very different from the one I remembered as a child. The full body image had been removed a number of years ago.
The packaging I remembered from childhood is shown below.
It seems a shame to me that children will no longer be familiar with the little game played with the Land O Lakes package from the 1950's.
The Ceiling - Day Five
On Monday I posted some photos of the first day of work on the living room ceiling. Today, Saturday, I will be publishing four separate posts showing the progress of the job. Today will probably wind up the ceiling with just the application of the "skim-coat" and the painting.
The results of today's work will more than likely be posted tomorrow.
When the ceiling and the inside painting is finished, the only thing left will be the laying of the floor tiles. The man that put down the tiles in the master bedroom is working on another job, so we will need to find someone else. Hopefully, everything will be done within the next two weeks.
